The 2025 Husqvarna TC 250 at Lings Husqvarna retains its position on top of the closely fought 250 cc 2-stroke motocross class thanks to its expert construction, which includes the latest technology and premium components. This machine is engineered for outstanding agility, precise handling, and confidence-inspiring performance.
At its core is a powerful 249.0 cm³, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke engine, weighing just 23.9 kg and producing 53 hp. This lightweight engine sets the benchmark in its category, delivering more torque than any other 250 cc 2-stroke and providing a broad, usable powerband. It features Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) via a 39 mm Keihin throttle body and an electronic power valve, ensuring optimal power delivery across the entire rev range without the need for jetting changes. An electric starter ensures reliable ignition, while a 5-speed Pankl gearbox provides precise and durable shifts. A counter balancer shaft minimizes vibrations for enhanced rider comfort.
The TC 250 is housed inside a revised chromium molybdenum steel frame that improves cornering agility and comfort. The frame features reduced material around the shock mount and steering head, with revised wall thickness in higher stress areas for improved strength. These changes reduce frame weight by 300g, enhancing flex characteristics, cornering, and rider feedback without compromising straight-line stability. The two-piece composite subframe, made from 60% polyamide and 40% aluminium, provides exceptional strength at a low weight of just 1.8 kg. A new hollow die-cast aluminium swingarm further optimizes stiffness and reduces weight by 190g.
Updated WP XACT suspension settings and a revised rear shock linkage offer more flex for unrivalled performance on track. The 48 mm WP XACT AER forks are revised for 2025 to work with the new frame, reducing weight while providing more flex. They feature a capsulated, adjustable air spring and pressurized oil chamber for consistent damping, with tool-free adjustability. The WP XACT rear shock offers 293 mm of travel with a CFD-optimized main piston for improved initial comfort and strong hold-up. Braking is handled by powerful Brembo disc brakes (260 mm front, 220 mm rear) for exceptional stopping power, with a new, stronger rear brake pedal for improved durability. Lightweight D.I.D rims are fitted with new Dunlop Geomax MX34 motocross tyres, providing superior traction and stability. Revised bodywork offers refined ergonomics for effortless movement and control, with a slightly higher and wider seat with a high-grip cover. Subtle, Swedish-inspired graphics, applied using in-mold technology, provide a stylish and long-lasting finish, ensuring unrestricted movement for reduced fatigue. A multifunctional Map Select Switch offers two engine maps for a personalized riding experience.
