The Husqvarna FC 450 at Lings Husqvarna continues to be the flagship machine in the Husqvarna Motorcycles motocross line-up. Its class-leading performance is retained for 2025 thanks to significant updates that enhance its agility and control on the track.
Powering the FC 450 is a powerful 449.9 cc, 1-cylinder, 4-stroke SOHC engine, weighing just 26.8 kg. This engine is designed to centralize mass for enhanced handling and improved anti-squat behavior from the chassis, ensuring smooth acceleration across rough terrain. It delivers an impressive amount of power throughout the rev range, with precise fuel delivery managed by a Keihin EFI throttle body. An electric starter, powered by a lightweight Li-Ion battery, provides reliable ignition. The 5-speed Pankl Racing Systems gearbox features optimized ratios and is incredibly light and durable. A DDS wet multi-disc clutch with Brembo hydraulics ensures consistent performance.
The chassis is engineered for absolute control. The central double-cradle-type chromium molybdenum steel frame, expertly crafted from hydro-formed, laser-cut, and robot-welded steel, features a new shock mount and engine mounts with cut-outs. These updates improve chassis flex, enhance cornering agility, and contribute to a 300g weight saving, all while maintaining straight-line stability. The frame is finished with a new, lighter, and perfectly balanced metallic blue powder coating. The composite subframe, made from a blend of polyamide and aluminium, offers exceptional strength at a low weight (just 1.8 kg).
The FC 450 comes with top-tier WP XACT suspension. The 48 mm split air forks feature updated settings developed to work in unison with the advanced chassis for high comfort, balance, and cornering agility. A hydrostop system improves bottoming resistance on hard landings. The WP XACT rear shock offers 300 mm of rear wheel travel and revised linkage geometry for exceptional performance, progressive damping, and impressive cornering agility. Both front and rear suspension are fully adjustable.
Premium components include high-strength D.I.D rims fitted with new, race-tested Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres, featuring new carcass and rubber compounds for improved damping, absorption, and up to 30% longer performance, along with enhanced traction. Braking is handled by powerful Brembo disc brakes, with a 260 mm front and 220 mm rear disc. Ergonomic bodywork with slim-profile tank shrouds and new, Swedish-inspired graphics (white, yellow, and blue) applied using in-mold technology provides a high-quality, long-lasting finish, ensuring unrestricted rider movement and a striking appearance. Advanced electronics include a handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch for engine braking, Launch Control, Traction Control, and Quickshifter.
