The Husqvarna FC 250 at Lings Husqvarna is widely praised as the best performing 250 cc 4-stroke on the market, and it retains its position at the head of the field for 2025. This machine is engineered for outstanding agility, precise handling, and confidence-inspiring performance.
At its core is a compact and powerful 249.9 cm³, 1-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC engine, which weighs a mere 24.8 kg. This engine is designed to centralize mass for enhanced handling and anti-squat behavior from the chassis. For 2025, it benefits from a new exhaust header with an improved joint for enhanced durability. The DOHC cylinder head features DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated finger followers and lightweight titanium intake and exhaust valves, ensuring optimal gas flow and high-revving performance up to its 14,000 rpm limit. A 44 mm Keihin throttle body ensures precise fuel delivery, and an electric starter provides reliable ignition. A 5-speed Pankl gearbox with optimized ratios and a DDS wet multi-disc clutch with Brembo hydraulics ensures consistent performance.
The FC 250 is housed inside an updated chromium molybdenum steel frame that is lower in weight (300g lighter than the previous generation) and offers improved chassis flex. This frame features a reworked rear shock mount area and updated engine mounts with cut-outs, enhancing cornering agility and comfort while maintaining straight-line stability. The frame is finished with a metallic blue powder coating. The two-piece composite subframe, made from 60% polyamide and 40% aluminium, provides exceptional strength at a low weight. A new hollow die-cast aluminium swingarm further optimizes stiffness and reduces weight by 190g.
Updates to the WP suspension and rear shock linkage ensure the outstanding agility of the FC 250 is enhanced further for 2025. The 48 mm WP XACT AER forks are revised, working with the new frame to reduce weight while providing more flex. They feature a capsulated, adjustable air spring and pressurized oil chamber for consistent damping. The WP XACT rear shock, revised for the updated frame, offers 300 mm of travel with a CFD-optimized main piston for improved initial comfort and strong hold-up. Both forks and shock offer tool-free adjustability for compression and rebound. Braking is handled by Brembo, with 260 mm front and 220 mm rear discs. New Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres are fitted for exceptional grip. Its new bodywork offers refined ergonomics for effortless movement and control, with slim-profile tank shrouds and a slightly higher and wider seat. Striking white and blue graphics, applied using in-mold technology, provide an outstanding and long-lasting finish. A multifunctional Map Select Switch allows riders to activate Launch and Traction Control, and enable the Quickshifter.
