Now available at Lings Triumph, the Triumph Tiger 900 Desert Edition is an adventure-bike ready to take you from grit-covered desert tracks to sweeping open highways without compromise. It combines the dynamic engine and agile chassis of the Tiger 900 range with off-road-inspired styling and premium extras — delivering serious capability wrapped in rugged flair.
Engine & Drive
At its core lies the liquid-cooled inline three-cylinder engine (888 cc) of the Tiger 900 series. The Desert Edition inherits the same triple that delivers approximately 108 PS (106.5 bhp) at 9,500 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 6,850 rpm.
The drivetrain features a smooth 6-speed gearbox and chain final drive (in this model), offering responsiveness and precision suited to mixed terrain.
Chassis, Suspension & Brakes
Engineered for adventure, the Desert Edition is built on a steel trellis frame with aluminium sub-frame features and is fitted for serious terrain. Notably it offers a 21-inch spoked front wheel and 17-inch rear for increased off-road confidence.
The suspension is upping the game: with Showa 45 mm upside-down forks delivering around 240 mm of travel at the front, and a Showa rear unit delivering ~230 mm of travel for robust off-road control.
Braking is handled by twin 320 mm floating discs with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers up front, and a 255 mm disc at the rear, all with Optimised Cornering ABS for enhanced safety in mixed conditions.
Seat height is adjustable at approx. 860-880 mm to help suit varied rider heights and terrain.
Riding Modes & Technology
The Desert Edition features a full suite of electronics and rider aids: multiple riding modes — including Off-Road and Off-Road Pro — together with full LED lighting, keyless ignition, a high-resolution 7-inch TFT display with connectivity functions, and corner-optimised ABS and traction control built in for mixed-surface stability.
All of this means the Tiger 900 Desert Edition isn’t just ready for remote tracks — it’s primed for long-haul touring, gravel spurs or desert crossings alike.
