Now available at Lings Triumph, the Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert Edition is an adventure machine built for riders who want to go rugged — from desert tracks to high-speed highways. Combining the core performance of the Tiger 1200 with unique styling and premium extras, it delivers serious capability wrapped in purposeful flair.
Engine & Drive
Powering the Desert Edition is the advanced liquid-cooled inline three-cylinder engine derived from the Tiger 1200 range. Producing around 141 PS (approx. 139bhp) at 9,350 rpm and 122 Nm of torque at 7,600 rpm in its earlier spec.
The drive train remains a slick 6-speed gearbox with shaft final drive, offering low-maintenance touring credentials and dependable long haul performance.
Chassis, Suspension & Brakes
Built to take on challenging terrain, the Desert Edition features a tubular steel frame and high specification WP semi-active suspension: the front WP 48 mm upside-down forks deliver around 190 mm of travel, while the rear WP monoshock gives approximately 193 mm of wheel travel with automatic preload adjustment.
Braking is handled by twin front discs and Brembo (or Nissin) calipers — for instance the spec lists twin 305mm discs up front and a 282mm disc at the rear.
Seat height is adjustable (approx. 835-855 mm) to suit terrain and rider preference.
Riding Modes & Technology
The Desert Edition comes loaded with rider aids and electronics: multiple riding modes including Off-Road and Off-Road Pro, corner-optimised ABS and traction control, full LED lighting, keyless ignition, and a full-colour TFT display with connectivity options.
These features mean it’s as ready for remote tracks as it is for continental touring.
