The 2027 KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition is not simply a motocross machine — it's a statement. Developed alongside Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, it brings an all-new chassis, suspension package, and engine platform straight from the paddock to the production line. Now it's your turn. With this bike you don’t follow the benchmark — you set it.
At its heart sits an all-new 249.9 cc single‐cylinder, 4-stroke engine featuring a redesigned cylinder head, revised valvetrain, and an innovative top-feed fuel injection system. Revving to a staggering 14,500 rpm limit, it represents the most powerful production 250 cc four-stroke motocross engine on the market. The compact powerplant is positioned 2.3 mm higher in the chassis to drastically centralize mass and sharpen handling. Fuel is delivered seamlessly via an updated throttle body with a repositioned injector, paired with a 5-speed transmission, a redesigned gearbox, and a wet multi-disc DS clutch with Brembo hydraulics — precision built for the holeshot.
The chassis is pure race-intent: an all-new lighter central double-cradle frame with revised stiffness characteristics, paired with a new die-cast aluminum swingarm and a 1.23 kg aluminum subframe—the lightest KTM has ever produced. The carefully tuned geometry features an updated chain tensioner allowing for a 5 mm extended wheelbase option, providing straight-line stability matched with razor-sharp corner entry.
Suspension marks a major evolution: upfront sits the new 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge Spring Fork, replacing the previous air system to provide consistent damping and a planted front-wheel connection. In the rear, an updated WP XACT monoshock features a new high-speed compression clicker and revised linkage setup for faster, more precise tuning.
Brakes come from Brembo: 260 mm rotor up front, 220 mm rotor at the rear for confident stops when the laps are stacking up. The model also features a specific exhaust with twin resonator chambers to meet the latest 109 dB FIM and AMA regulations. The weight (without fuel) of the 2027 Factory Edition is listed at 103 kg — making it incredibly agile on its feet.
Electronics have officially taken over the paddock. A new Engine Management System processes data faster than ever, offering selectable gear-dependent maps, traction control, launch control, new knock-control technology, and an updated Quickshifter strategy for seamless upshifts — features once reserved for the top level, now standard race hardware.
