Ready to step up into the big leagues? The 2025 KTM 85 SX 17/14 is poised to take young riders there. Developed extensively on the track at an international level, this 2-stroke powerhouse boasts significantly enhanced handling, improved power delivery, and notable advancements in race pace over longer distances, making it 100% READY TO RACE.
At the core of the KTM 85 SX is a completely new 84.9 cc 2-stroke engine. This compact and powerful unit is now 120 grams lighter than its predecessor, thanks to innovative design. It features a new digital ignition system for a cleaner burn and smoother power, alongside a redesigned combustion chamber. A new Pankl crankshaft ensures durability and performance. The engine's outstanding rideability is further enhanced by an improved exhaust system, designed with a new stamping process and featuring a new muffler for optimal power delivery.
The chassis sees significant upgrades for 2025, starting with an all-new chromium molybdenum steel frame. This frame, with a black powder-coated finish, is crafted with innovative hydro-forming and robotic welding, offering calculated parameters of longitudinal flex and torsional rigidity for a tailored stiffness. This results in unprecedented quality and enhanced agility. The bike rolls on lightweight, black anodized GIANT aluminium rims (17-inch front, 14-inch rear) fitted with MAXXIS MX-ST tyres, ensuring outstanding performance and stability. Braking is handled by high-performance Formula calipers, with a 240mm wave disc up front and a 220mm wave disc at the rear, providing confidence-inspiring stopping power. New "no-dirt" footrests offer improved grip and are less susceptible to hooking up in deep ruts.
Comfort and control are paramount, with fully adjustable WP XACT suspension both front and rear. The 43mm WP XACT AER fork offers plush damping and easy, tool-free adjustability, while the WP XACT PDS monoshock provides consistent performance over challenging terrain. Redesigned bodywork ensures improved rider contact, freedom of movement, and a bold, fresh look for 2025. All these elements combine to deliver a bike that is not only faster and more capable but also inspires immense confidence in every young racer.
