Good news for MC 250 fanatics! Our beloved 2-stroke is updated for 2025, starting with a new frame. The GasGas MC 250 at Lings GasGas is engineered to be a little more supple, losing none of its straight-line stability but gaining much more agility through the corners, ensuring a confidence-inspiring ride, every time. Fuel it up, hit that e-start button, and hold on tight!
At its core is a powerful 249.0 cm³, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke engine, weighing just 23.9 kg. This benchmark-setting engine delivers outstanding performance through its 5-speed transmission. A major technological leap for the 2-stroke SX range is the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). This Keihin EFI system, combined with a reed valve case design and electronic power valve, ensures smooth, more usable power throughout the rev range, eliminating fiddly jetting setups and guaranteeing optimal power at any altitude. An electric starter, powered by a robust 12.8V 2 Ah lithium-ion battery, means instant restarts. Riders can also choose between two engine maps via a map select switch: Map 1 (linear, predictable power) and Map 2 (crisp, explosive power).
The chassis receives significant updates for 2025, directly from Factory Racing efforts. The central double-cradle-type 25CrMo4 steel frame features a reworked rear shock mount area and updated engine mounts with cut-outs, resulting in improved chassis flex, better cornering behavior, and a 300g weight saving. The frame is also optimized for better anti-squat behavior. The all-aluminium subframe is light, strong, and works as one with the new frame, helping to centralize mass. Forged aluminum triple clamps offer precise flex and align the fork tubes perfectly for smooth action and predictable handling.
Updated settings for the 48mm, split-air WP XACT forks deliver consistent damping, easily adjustable by hand on the outside with an included air pump for customized setup. The WP XACT rear shock, with 300mm of travel, soaks up big bumps with ease, with performance enhanced by new, lower friction seals and a lighter linkage bolt for 2025. Braktec calipers with GasGas specific brake disks (260mm front, 220mm rear) ensure amazing braking performance, allowing riders to stay on the gas longer and brake later into corners. Bigger footpegs offer a larger surface area for maximum grip and are less likely to catch in deep ruts. The unmistakable, all-red bodywork for a classic GasGas look, with new black-emblazoned graphics applied using IML technology, stays super fresh for a long time. NEKEN handlebars with lock-on ODI grips ensure a comfortable setup. A stronger one-piece air intake guarantees maximum airflow, and a beefier rubber tank support holds the fuel tank firmly in place while protecting the frame. Losing none of its awesomeness for 2025, the MC 250 only gets better.
