Triumph Bonneville T40 Black

PRICING TO BE ANNOUNCED IN EARLY 2027

Inspired by the iconic design DNA of the legendary Bonneville family, the all-new Bonneville T40 Black reach a whole new level of detailing, quality, and finish for the 400cc class. Featuring a sculpted teardrop fuel tank with hand-painted coach lining, classic round LED headlight, peashooter silencer, and spoked wheels, it brings the timeless appeal of 1960s Bonneville design to today’s riders—a genuine icon, beautifully evolved.

Now available at Lings Triumph, the Triumph Bonneville T40 Black stands as an accessible, A2-compliant evolution of British motorcycling heritage. Combining unmistakable classic style with modern capability, the T40 is designed for effortless daily riding and timeless style.

At the heart of the bike lies a newly tuned liquid-cooled 400cc TR Series single-cylinder engine. Delivering 32 PS of peak power at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, it provides strong low-end drive and a smooth, responsive ride. Its dedicated engine tune, revised cylinder head, and peashooter exhaust create a rich, distinctive soundtrack with clear firing pulses.

Weighing just 191kg ready-to-ride, the T40 features lightweight aluminium rimmed spoked wheels (18-inch front / 17-inch rear) and refined chassis geometry for agile, effortless handling. Suspension comes courtesy of classically styled front forks and twin rear shocks, offering a controlled, comfortable ride while maintaining a clean, uncluttered profile.

Classic styling cues include machined cooling fins, brushed aluminium engine covers, and embossed Triumph detailing throughout. Yet beneath its classic design is a suite of class-leading technology. Features include a circular 4-inch full-colour TFT display with Heritage Mode, full-map turn-by-turn navigation via the Triumph Navigation App, smartphone connectivity, five riding modes (Road, Rain, Eco, and two customisable), cruise control, Lean-sensitive Optimised Cornering ABS, Optimised Cornering Traction Control, and full LED lighting with Emergency Deceleration Warning.

Braking is confident and precise, with a twin-piston front caliper and braided brake lines delivering consistent lever feel. A low, accessible seat height of 790mm (reducible to 770mm with the optional low seat), relaxed upright ergonomics, and a standard centre stand make the T40 as practical as it is rewarding to ride.

For those who appreciate authentic heritage style without sacrificing modern tech and accessibility, the Triumph Bonneville T40 is the definitive choice.
