Known the world over as a trial workhorse that delivers class-leading performance, the GasGas TXT GP 250 at Lings GasGas offers precise, agile handling with a strong motor creating a serious amount of usable power. With a plentiful supply of clean and tractable torque on tap, it's the way it's delivered that encourages all skillful riders to push their limits. Not for the faint-hearted, the 250cc 2-stroke is built to conquer the toughest sections and take on the toughest challenges head-on.
At its core is a 247.7 cc, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke engine with a 72.5 mm bore and 60 mm stroke. Designed to be light, compact, and offer the best power delivery for riders of all abilities, this liquid-cooled engine can rev up to 10,500 rpm. It features a professionally engineered cylinder and piston with specifically designed intake and exhaust ports to make the motor best in its class. A high-performance forged piston guarantees maximum performance and durability. A kickstarter ensures reliable ignition, and a 6-speed transmission with a BRAKTEC hydraulic diaphragm clutch provides precise control. A HIDRIA ECU manages the engine, with a handlebar-mounted map switch allowing for a choice of two ignition curves for tailored power depending on riding style and weather conditions. An aluminum inverted U-flow radiator with an electrical fan keeps things cool no matter how wild things get.
The TXT GP 250's impressive maneuverability stems from its advanced chassis. The 25CrMo4 chrome-moly steel central-tube frame weighs just 6kg, crafted with laser cutting and robot welding for exceptional precision and durability. Its refined geometry provides optimal stiffness combined with low weight. TECH 39mm low-friction front forks are smooth and progressive, with a Kashima coating to maximize sensitivity. These forks feature a split design with a progressive spring in the left leg and an 'End Stroke' adjuster at the bottom to prevent harsh bottoming, offering 160mm of travel. At the rear, a high-end TECH hydraulic damper with linkage provides 174mm of travel and is 3-way adjustable (preload, compression, and rebound). The slim, super-solid, and lightweight swingarm is cast from a single piece of aluminum.
Braking and clutch hydraulics from Braktec deliver precise control. Up front, a monoblock 4-piston BRAKTEC caliper bites a 185mm floating waved disc, while at the rear, a 2-piston BRAKTEC caliper works with a 150mm solid waved disc (FIM compliant). The bike rolls on CNC machined hubs with cool, black anodized aluminum MORAD rims, fitted with Michelin's super-light X11 tires for exceptional grip on rocks, mud, and obstacles. Slim, smooth, and ergonomically designed bodywork, made from super flexible polypropylene, allows unrestricted movement for riders and returns to shape even if bent more than 180 degrees. Strong and lightweight tapered NEKEN handlebars are fitted with RENTHAL grips for comfort and control, complemented by a unique bar pad specific to the TXT GP range.
