At its heart lies a punchy 125 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine producing around 15 PS. A smooth six-speed gearbox with slip-and-assist clutch delivers sharp, responsive shifts ideal for quick acceleration or tight city maneuvering.

Its compact steel trellis frame and roomy bolt-on alloy subframe deliver lean, confident handling. Up front, a 43 mm inverted WP XPLOR fork offers 150 mm of travel, while the rear XPLOR PDS monoshock provides 137 mm—perfectly tuned for track-to-street versatility.

Braking performance is precision-engineered: a 300 mm front disc with a four-piston radial-mount caliper and 220 mm rear disc provide crisp, modulated stops. A two-channel ABS system delivers cornering support with at least one ride mode allowing rear-wheel-only operation for supermoto-style control.

With a low dry weight under 135 kg and a confident stance from its 856 mm seat height, the 125 SMC-R offers fearless cornering and easy access for younger or shorter riders.
