At its heart, the 800MT Explore Edition is powered by a robust and dynamic DOHC liquid-cooled 799cc parallel-twin engine. This engine delivers 67 kW (91 hp) at 9,250 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm (some sources suggest 95hp and 75Nm). It features a 285° firing order, creating a similar power delivery and sound characteristics to a V-twin. High-efficiency intake and exhaust systems, lightweight forged pistons, and friction reduction technology ensure optimum performance and durability. A Power Assisted Slipper Clutch (PASC) provides a lighter clutch lever pull and aids in keeping the motorcycle steady during sharp downshifts by reducing back torque. A bi-directional quickshifter enhances the riding experience with effortless gear changes.

It features a model-specific steel chassis and aluminium swingarm, combining a high-strength, lightweight chromium-molybdenum alloy steel frame with an aluminium swingarm for optimized rigidity and stability. Fully adjustable KYB suspension components are fitted, with 43mm upside-down front forks offering 160mm of travel and a KYB rear shock providing 150mm of travel. This setup ensures a compliant and controlled ride on all road conditions. Braking is handled by a J.Juan braking system with Bosch Cornering ABS for superior stopping power and safety, featuring dual 320mm floating discs with J.Juan 4-piston radial-mount calipers up front, and a single 260mm disc with a twin-piston J.Juan caliper at the rear. The bike rolls on lightweight spoked wheels (19-inch front, 17-inch rear) fitted with Michelin Anakee adventure tires for exceptional grip and traction.
