Setting a high standard in the adventure motorcycle segment, the Husqvarna Norden 901 at Lings Husqvarna allows touring enthusiasts to discover the hidden corners of the globe. Excelling on-road and highly capable off-road, this long-distance travel machine is designed to enhance rider comfort on extended journeys.
At its core is a smooth and torquey 889 cc parallel-twin engine, producing 77 kW (105 hp) of peak power and 100 Nm of torque. This liquid-cooled, DOHC engine is designed for low fuel consumption, allowing for an extended range of over 400 km on its 19-litre fuel tank. The engine uses a forced oil lubrication system with two oil pumps for optimal performance and durability. A 6-speed transmission and a PASC slipper clutch ensure smooth gear changes and confident control.
The Norden 901 is built around a lightweight chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame that uses the engine as a stressed member, making it both strong and compact. This design is engineered to deliver precise feedback, agility through tight corners, and assured stability and comfort when riding off-road. The geometry is formulated to create a world-class travel motorcycle with perfect ergonomics. WP APEX 43 mm front forks offer 220 mm of travel, while the WP APEX monoshock at the rear provides 215 mm of travel, ensuring exceptional comfort both on-road and off. The suspension is adjustable for preload and rebound.
Stopping power is managed by Bosch 9.1 MP Cornering ABS, which is disengageable and includes an Offroad mode. Dual 320 mm front brake discs with radially mounted 4-piston calipers and a 260 mm rear disc with a 2-piston floating caliper provide confident braking. The bike rolls on lightweight, tubeless aluminium spoked wheels (21-inch front, 18-inch rear) fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, offering balanced performance on and off-road.
The Norden 901 comes with a suite of advanced features for an enriched riding experience. These include four selectable ride modes (Street, Rain, Offroad, and an optional Explorer mode), standard Easy Shift (quickshifter) for seamless up and down shifts, and Cruise Control. A Connectivity Unit in the cockpit allows for turn-by-turn navigation, telephone calls, and music selection via a smartphone. The functional bodywork, inspired by Husqvarna's rally machines, combines style with simplicity, protecting from trail dirt and spray, and positions the fuel low for uncompromised handling and a low centre of gravity. The LED headlight and standard fog lights illuminate the way, completing a machine built for endless exploration.
