CFMOTO CX-5E

The CFMOTO CX-5E at Lings CFMOTO takes everything great about the CX-2E and amps it up for competent young riders. This is a full-fledged youth dirt bike, offering more power, more ground clearance, longer suspension, and off-road tyres, making it ideal for those ready to take their skills to the next level.

At its heart, the CX-5E features a 48V-BLDC electric motor, specifically a HUB motor, with a maximum power output of 1.5 kW and 7 Nm of torque. This innovative design combines the e-motor and proprietary controller into a single, space-efficient unit, enhancing overall compactness and efficiency. High thermal conductivity glue used within the motor helps maintain optimal internal temperatures for efficient operation and longevity. The bike is equipped with a high-capacity 48V, 24Ah (1152Wh) lithium-ion battery. These batteries are designed for consistent performance and longevity, protected to IP66 standards for enhanced durability against dust and water. The battery ensures extended riding sessions, providing a run range of up to 60 km and a maximum speed endurance of over 30 minutes in the highest mode. Charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 4 hours, and a full charge (10%-100%) takes 5 hours. The fact that the battery can be easily replaced during riding sessions, simply by removing a few quick-release screws, will make both the rider and their parents very happy, ensuring continuous fun.

The CX-5E boasts a robust cradle steel tube frame, offering a stable and durable platform. It rides on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear spoked alloy rims fitted with high-knobby off-road tyres for superior traction on various terrains. The long-travel suspension is expertly tuned for off-road use, promising a smooth and comfortable ride. A 31mm telescopic front fork provides 105mm of travel, while a centrally mounted rear monoshock with adjustable preload offers 100mm of travel. Stopping power comes from full hydraulic disc brakes with a single-piston caliper at both the front and rear. The bike weighs 56 kg, including the battery, with a seat height of 678 mm and ground clearance of 210 mm, suitable for riders aged 8 to 12 years.

Safety and rider progression are key. Parents can select from three distinct acceleration power settings and limit the maximum speed to suit their child's skill level: Beginner Mode (15 km/h), Mode 1 (24 km/h), Mode 2 (36 km/h), and Mode 3 (46 km/h). Battery consumption, charge indicators, and the currently selected "gear" are all integrated into one convenient LCD display. The e-throttle is specially designed for children, proportional to a child's grasp for easy operation. The default "beginner mode" enhances safety, and power can be promptly shut off in emergencies by disengaging the magnetic safety lanyard. Ergonomically designed handlebars, seat, and footrests promote a natural and comfortable riding posture, thoroughly tested and approved by junior riders globally. The whisper-quiet operation with zero noise and exhaust emissions ensures an eco-friendly and enjoyable riding experience for the whole family.
