Triumph Unveils Major 2026 Updates to the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660

Triumph has revealed the most significant updates yet to its hugely popular 660cc range. For 2026, both the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 receive a higher-performance triple engine, enhanced technology, refined chassis, and bold new styling – pushing each model to the top of its respective segment.

Available in dealerships from March 2026, the updated 660 models reinforce Triumph’s reputation for delivering accessible performance, premium quality, and class-leading value.

More Power, More Character, More Capability

At the heart of both motorcycles is a comprehensively updated version of Triumph’s 660cc triple engine. Peak power rises to an impressive 95 PS at 11,250 rpm, with torque increased to 68 Nm at 8,250 rpm. Even more importantly for real-world riding, 80% of peak torque is available from just 3,000 rpm through to nearly 12,000 rpm, ensuring strong, flexible performance across the entire rev range.

These gains come from significant internal upgrades, including:

  • Three individual 44mm throttle bodies

  • A larger front-mounted airbox

  • A revised cylinder head with larger exhaust valves

  • A new engine tune and a 20% higher redline of 12,650 rpm

The result is smoother low-rpm response, stronger mid-range drive, and a more engaging top end – all while retaining the everyday usability and A2-licence compatibility that have made the 660 range so popular.

A revised 3-into-1 exhaust system with an underslung silencer preserves the distinctive triple soundtrack while meeting the latest emissions standards. Updated gearbox internals, recalibrated Triumph Shift Assist, and a new slip-and-assist clutch further improve refinement and ease of use.

Trident 660 – Triple the Thrill

The 2026 Trident 660 takes a clear step into sportier territory. With its increased performance, revised frame, and new Showa rear suspension unit, the Trident now delivers sharper handling and improved adjustability while retaining its confidence-inspiring nature.

Styling updates give the Trident a more muscular stance, including a redesigned fuel tank with chiselled knee cut-outs, new split seat design, and a revised headlight and mounting. Premium details and neatly hidden cabling reinforce the Trident’s modern roadster appeal.

Technology is equally impressive, with ride-by-wire throttle, three riding modes (Sport, Road and Rain), a six-axis IMU enabling Optimised Cornering ABS and Traction Control, cruise control as standard, and MyTriumph Connectivity included. Combined with a low 810mm seat height and a wet weight of just 195kg, the Trident remains one of the most accessible and exciting middleweight roadsters on the market.

Tiger Sport 660 – Adventure Extended

The updated Tiger Sport 660 builds on its reputation as the ultimate middleweight all-rounder, blending the new engine’s performance with improved touring capability and comfort.

For 2026, the Tiger Sport benefits from:

  • A larger 18.6-litre fuel tank for extended range

  • New bodywork and radiator cowls for improved weather protection

  • A revised frame to accommodate the updated engine

  • Premium Showa suspension with 150mm of travel front and rear, including remote rear preload adjustment

These changes make the Tiger Sport even more capable when riding two-up or fully loaded, while maintaining its upright ergonomics, low 835mm seat height, and confidence-inspiring handling. A wet weight of 211kg, Michelin Road 5 tyres, and powerful Nissin braking with Optimised Cornering ABS ensure reassurance in all conditions.

Like the Trident, the Tiger Sport 660 comes equipped with three riding modes, a six-axis IMU, cruise control, full LED lighting, and a combined TFT/LCD display with MyTriumph Connectivity fitted as standard. A comprehensive luggage range and comfort accessories further enhance its touring credentials.
