What a historic weekend for Triumph Factory Racing! At the final round of the 2026 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship at the MXGP of Australia, Guillem Farres officially captured the World Championship title, securing Triumph’s first-ever FIM motocross world title in the process.
With Farres claiming the championship and his teammate Camden McLellan finishing as the runner-up in the title race, the duo capped off an unbelievable year, dominating the season and proving the power of the Triumph TF 250-X.
Farres Makes History Heading into the Australian finale, Farres had held the championship lead ever since winning Triumph’s home Grand Prix in Great Britain in July. The 23-year-old Spaniard rode a smart and calculated opening moto, finishing second behind McLellan, which was enough to officially wrap up his very first world title!
Across his championship-winning 2026 campaign, Farres won 14 motos and six overall rounds, including a mid-season hot streak of four consecutive GP wins. He ultimately finished the season with a commanding 36-point lead over his teammate.
Reflecting on his momentous achievement, Farres said:
"It's been an unbelievable weekend here in Australia. We wrapped up the championship in the first race, with Camden taking the win and me finishing second, which was an amazing feeling... Overall, it's been an incredible season and definitely one I'll remember for the rest of my life. I'm super happy with everyone around me. Triumph and the whole team have done an amazing job all year."
McLellan Takes the Final Win While Farres secured the title, Camden McLellan ended the season on a massive high by winning the final Grand Prix in Australia. Taking a 1-2 finish in the motos, McLellan earned 47 points on the weekend, securing his second consecutive overall victory following his win in China.
McLellan's fantastic season included five Grand Prix victories and eight overall podiums, officially securing him second place in the 2026 World Championship standings.
Triumph Wins the Manufacturers Championship If an incredible 1-2 finish in the rider standings wasn't enough, Triumph also wrapped up the MX2 Manufacturers Championship! It is an astonishing achievement for a brand that has only been competing at this level for three years.
Between Farres and McLellan, the Triumph TF 250-X took the top step of the podium at 11 of the 19 Grands Prix this year.
Next up, the team will celebrate this historic milestone back at Triumph headquarters in Hinckley before turning their attention to the upcoming FIM Motocross of Nations, where Farres will represent Spain and McLellan will line up for South Africa.
