It's back! After a 2-year absence, the 2025 KTM 150 SX is once again ready to tear into your favorite MX track. Get ready to experience what it feels like to be a marble launched from a slingshot. The KTM 150 SX pulls hard from the bottom, gallops in the middle, and sings at the top. Which is where it belongs.
The heart of this beast is a powerful 143.99 cm³, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke engine, weighing just under 18 kg. This engine is designed to deliver more torque than its 125 SX stablemate, maintaining its typical high-revving, lightweight 2-stroke character. A major highlight is the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, which, along with an electronic power valve, ensures smooth and usable power delivery across the entire rev range. This eliminates the need for fiddly jetting adjustments, guaranteeing optimal performance at any altitude. The electric starter, powered by a robust 12.8V 2 Ah lithium-ion battery, provides instant and reliable starts, even after a stall in a deep rut. Riders can also tailor the power delivery with a map select switch, offering a linear Map 1 for hard-packed dirt and a richer Map 2 for loose, sandy conditions.
The 2025 KTM 150 SX features significant chassis updates derived directly from Factory Racing efforts. The central double-cradle-type 25CrMo4 steel frame has been reworked around the rear shock mount and includes new engine mounts with cut-outs, resulting in improved chassis flex, better cornering behaviour, and a 300g weight saving. The WP XACT AER 48mm upside-down forks and WP XACT monoshock with linkage have been re-tuned for 2025, providing improved response and easy, tool-free adjustability for both high and low-speed compression, as well as rebound. Lightweight and strong black anodized D.I.D rims are fitted with race-tested Dunlop MX34 tyres, featuring new carcass and rubber compounds for improved damping, absorption, and enhanced traction. Powerful Brembo disc brakes (260mm front, 220mm rear) ensure exceptional stopping power. Ergonomically, new tank shrouds with bi-compound plastics improve radiator airflow and cooling, while an upgraded rear brake pedal adds stiffness and improved feel. An updated chain guide and chain guard further enhance durability, minimising dirt build-up and potential snagging.
